Dr. Ojeda is an Associate Professor in the Geosciences Department at Auburn University. Her research focus is to understand how groundwater connects humans to the geosphere. By integrating geochemistry and community-based research, she addresses questions related to water quality and water contamination from organic and inorganic compounds. She combines classical geochemical techniques with toxicology and epidemiology to better understand the mechanism of toxicity in humans and disease patterns related to impaired water quality.

She is committed to improving water resource management as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Board on Earth Sciences and Resources and the Alabama Section of the American Water Resources Association.
