Dr. Gitter is an Assistant Professor in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health and joined our Private Well Network steering committee in the fall of 2025. Her research focuses on water resources management for public health, emphasizing community engagement and applying human health risk modeling to interpret environmental exposures. Her current work includes evaluating public health risks in water environments through human health risk assessment, enhancing public health preparedness through wastewater epidemiology, and characterizing experiences of water insecurity across diverse communities.
