Dr. Wickliffe is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has worked and focused his research on issues related to human health and environmental exposures along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico for many years. He has worked extensively on population health research regarding food, air, and water safety during and following the Deepwater Horizon spill in 2010. He has also contributed to several efforts examining and recommending policy considerations regarding coastal human health related to natural resources, environmental disasters, resilience, and community and population disparities. Much of his research and outreach has included community partners and a deep involvement of community participants.
